Step 0 — Before you place anything

1 Sweep & bag the cut-down insulation on the garage floor. Mask on — it's fiberglass debris from the door-opener install, not a failing ceiling.
2 Sort into category piles: tools, sports/outdoor, seasonal/holiday, automotive, garden, sentimental, deal-with-later. Purge as you go.
3 Then place by the map. Frequency rule: daily = easy reach, seasonal = high shelf / overhead. Nothing permanent in the center bays — those need to stay clear for cars on cold days.
